The basics

What a custom silicone toe is

A silicone toe prosthesis is a custom-made replacement for a toe, or part of a toe, individually sculpted from an impression of your foot and matched to your own skin tone, joint shading and nail detail. It is worn on the foot, slips on and off easily, and is designed to read as part of you, barefoot, in sandals and at the pool.

It is also quietly practical. A missing toe leaves empty space in the toe box that lets shoes crease, collapse and wear unevenly, and invites the neighbouring toes to drift. A well-fitted silicone toe fills that space, protects a sensitive residual toe, and helps the rest of the foot hold its shape.

Sculpted to you

Made from an impression of your foot and referenced against your other side, down to the nail.

Colour matched

Base tone, undertone, joint shading and nail colour, matched in neutral light to your own skin.

Fitted in person

A registered clinician fits the device, signs it off against a standard, and supports you afterwards.

Common questions

What is a prosthetic toe?

A custom-made silicone replacement for a toe or part of a toe, sculpted to your foot and colour-matched to your skin tone and nail detail, fitted by a registered clinician.

How much does a prosthetic toe cost?

Every device is custom made, so price depends on the extent of the restoration and the clinician's fees. A registered clinician gives you a clear, itemised quote before any work begins.

Does a prosthetic toe help with shoes?

Yes. Filling the empty toe box helps shoes fit and wear properly, stops the foot sliding forward, and helps neighbouring toes keep their spacing.

How do I get a prosthetic toe?

Through a registered BioDigit clinician, who assesses your foot, takes the impression and colour match, and fits the finished device in person with aftercare.

Also missing a finger? BioDigit began with custom silicone finger prostheses, made to the same standard.
