Where to get a custom silicone finger prosthesis in the US

Custom silicone fingers are made and fitted by trained clinicians, not bought off a shelf. Here is how to find a qualified one near you in the US.

If you are looking for a custom silicone finger prosthesis in the United States, the most important thing to know is that these devices are made and fitted by trained clinicians, not bought off a shelf. This guide explains who provides them, how to find a qualified clinician near you, and what to expect, whether you are in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Miami or anywhere in between.

Who provides custom finger prostheses

Custom silicone restorations are typically provided by clinicians such as anaplastologists, prosthetists, and hand or occupational therapy specialists trained in this work. They assess your hand, take an impression, color-match to your skin and fit the finished device in person. The quality of that clinical work, especially the impression and color match, is what separates a convincing result from a generic one.

How BioDigit's network works

BioDigit makes lifelike custom silicone fingers and supplies them to registered clinicians who fit them to their patients. We do not sell custom devices directly to the public, because a good outcome depends on professional assessment and fitting. When you register your interest, we connect you with a registered clinician who provides this service, and if there is not one in your area yet, we keep you informed as the network grows.

Find a clinician by city

We are building coverage across major US metros. You can start with your nearest city:

Not on the list? Our US overview and the find a clinician page let you register from anywhere in the country.

What to expect at the fitting

A typical journey runs from an initial consultation and assessment, to an impression and measurements, to color-matching, and then to the fitting of the finished prosthesis with guidance on wear and care. A clinician will also talk you through realistic expectations for your specific hand. For more on the steps, see the fitting journey and how to get a prosthetic finger.

Cost and coverage

Because each device is custom, pricing is per case. Several US funding routes may help, including private insurance, workers' compensation, Medicare or Medicaid in some cases, VA benefits and HSA or FSA funds. See our US guides to cost and insurance coverage for detail.
